The strange lands of the Shadowlands interfered with the operation of the normal reflection shields, leading to the development of the Empowered shields. These shields surround the target with a defensive barrier that deflects a portion of all damage being dealt by the attacker away from the target. Some of this damage is deflected back onto the attacker. Every 2 minutes the reflection shields are refreshed on the engineer's team.
